Bondi to Congee July 14th 2005--Bastille Day

Well, here I go with my accounts today (photos above are from last night):

Took a four-hour cliffwalk along the coast from Bondi to Coogee (pronounced Kū-dgee)—cove after cove and beach after beach!
Breathtaking scenery jumped into sight at every cliff-turn, as the sun poked its head in and out of the clouds. The ocean breeze turned warm well into the day as the temperatures settled in the high teens (degrees celcius). And they call this “winter”!! ^_^
At all hours of day-light, little sealion-heads bob up and down in the water. Well, actually, they are hardcore, enthusiastic surfers with a hard bite for their daily “session”!! Never have I seen so much surfing activity…all day long...

I toyed with the idea of taking a plunge into the inviting waters, for more than a few hours today. But my apprehension to venture into these unfamiliar waters, keeps me at bay, althought I spotted quite a few lone swimmers out in the waters today. I have however, shipped my wetsuit down to Melbourne already in anticipation of the next leg to my trip (needed to lighten the carrying load).
An oceanswim in Sydney waters will simply have to wait until my return to the Capital. But it really was a delight to my eyes to see swimmers in such numbers “out there” getting their fill of the salty elements!
Tomorrow, I will take a sunrise dip in the pool next to the beach—filled with ocean waters from the crashing waves...
Sydney Center-City awaits me tomorrow and though my Aussie friend Rob thinks that Kings Cross is "dangerous"...I am sure that it has much to offer in terms of "city experience" and other "adventurous" travellers.
We shall see. . .
(pictures are coming forth...next blog entry--STILL TRYING TO FIGURE OUT HOW THIS BLOG POSTING WORKS!!!!--sorry).
